The Philosophy of Confucius Essay Example for Free
The Philosophy of Confucius EssayFor my essay I have decided to analyze the philosophy of Confucius as seen in The analecta or Lunyu ( ). I will be focusing primarily on what I have appoint to be the key comp championnts primal Confucian moral philosophy Filial Piety (Xiao) (? ), Ritual Propriety (Li) (? ) and Authoritative Conduct (Ren) (? ). These three moral fantasys be integral aspects of Confucian role ethics they develop as a counterpart to western sandwich philosophy such as Immanuel Kants ethics of duty and have remained to this day sound and time-honored ideologies that people should live their lives in accordance with. Confucianism has had the most the most prevalent influence on Chinese society for nearly two thousand historic close (c100BC-1900AD), it affected all aspects of Chinese life education, politics and personal conduct in both ones private and public affairs. It became the paramount take of thought and later significant philosophies such as Daoism an d Legalism would take their lead from Confucianism. The Chinese government made Confucianism the official state philosophy tho that is non to say didnt fall out of favour over the last two thousand years from c.200-600AD on that point was a severe decline in followers as a result of the emergence of Buddhism and Daoism but Confucianism was fully revived by 700AD. In 1100s came Neo-Confucianism, innovated by Zhu-Xi, focussing more on Li and aspects of human nature and in the 1900s Confucianism fell out of favour with western beliefs such as communism. However all government opposition to communism end by 1977 and Confucianism is now being embraced again in both eastern and western cultures. Confucius is known to the Chinese as Kung Fu-tzu ( ) which has been Latinized by Europeans to Confucius. He was born in 551BC amidst the chaos of political instability and constant warring of the Zhou era into a poor family of the lower nobility. Throughout his life he made legion(predicate) atte mpts to gain an office with a prominent ruler willing to implement his concepts, after failing to do so he dedicated his life to article of belief and accumulated an impressive amount of disciples, including Mencius and Xunzi. Confucius followers took it upon themselves to document and formulate their own interpretations of his interactions and teachings as Confucius never wrote anything down himself. These records of Confucius philosophy can now be found in The analecta which has been translated into many languages and sold millions of copies around the human race. Xiao or the nonion of Filial Piety is probably the most definitive sentiment associated with Confucianism. Xiao is usually highlighted by western interpreters as it does not comply with western values and for this reason was not used as a starting point for promoting Confucianism in the western world. Confucius discusses Xiao in the context of identifying states of order and disorder in society. In a time of constant wa rf are Confucius conceded that this a societal behaviour was due to a lack of Xiao, in The Analects Confucius tells us that a man with filial piety is unlikely to revolt in society or defy the berth of his superiors A man filial to his parents, a good brother, yet apt to go against his superiors few are like that . Confucius gives numerous definitions of Xiao to different students he explains that Xiao is the germ of moral justice.Like a plant, Xiao has to take place at the beginning of ones life in order for it to flourish The military man operates at the root. When the root is firm, then the Way may proceed. Confucius emphasized that it was imperative for people to develop this notion of Xiao in which younger generations were obliged develop randy immediacy to their next of kin, an element of devotion was expected. Confucius put great importance in conducting numerous rituals for varying occasions he found it essential to the wellbeing of society.Religious activity was gea red toward the worshipping of ancestors. When an elder died the children of the deceased were expected to undertake a three year mourning period in which they completed neutered their living conditions to bear minimum and did not partake in any cordial conventions such as work or celebratory events When a gentleman is mourning, he gets no pleasure from eating sweet foods, finds no joy in listening to music, and feels no comfort in his place of dwelling. This is why he gives up these things Many considered three years to be an excessive period of time as we see when Zai Wo asks Confucius if he can limit the mourning period to one year and Confucius considers him perverse, he explains that only after being fully tended to for three years can one leave their parents bosom, parents alter their lives to accommodate the blood line and raising of a child regardless of genial convention. Similarly in Chinese culture it is thought that when a person dies they enter the spirit world in whi ch they are once again rendered new-borns and need the care and devotion of their descendents to begin life there. It is reciprocity between generations, an exchange of unconditional loyalty and love. Xiao is initially established in these undertakings. Ritual propriety or Li involves perfecting the art of self-governing and restraint, it refers to the secular functions of everyday life such as all perfunctory conduct, from table manners to patterns of greeting and leave-taking, to graduations, weddings, funerals, from gestures of deference to ancestral sacrifices .Li is the mechanism by which one conveys their respect and gratuity to their elders and superiors it in any case encompasses how one should act social in order to earn respect and honour in return. It is appropriate behaviour in the sense that it promotes and enhances relationships in a community. This was essential as the social context of the Chinese was focussed on communal living, therefore Confucius tries to instruc t people on how to live symphoniously with their families.Everything one says and does is brought into consideration under the concept of ritual propriety Look at nothing in rebelliousness of ritual, listen to nothing in defiance of ritual, speak of nothing in defiance of ritual, never stir hand or foot in defiance of ritual. The aesthetic aspect of Confucius is not to understand morality and judge but rather become more skilful in engaging the people around you in your endeavours, everyone has a role in society and they must continue it.Devoting yourself to ritual is not the same as shunning your own desires and emotions its the ability to reconcile ones own desires amicably within the social context you are occupying. In the Analects Confucius explains that by curbing our own personal agendas we can learn to appreciate the conventions of society which allows it to function harmoniously, he also stresses that with age and experience one can only truly gain this appreciation When I attained the age of fifteen, I became bent on study. At thirty I was a confirmed student. At, nought could move me from my course. At fifty, I comprehended the will and decrees of heaven. At sixty, my ears were attuned (to them). At seventy, I could follow my black Maria desires without overstepping the lines of rectitude. Confucius also stressed the importance of sincerity, he felt that without possessing a genuine interest in the well-being of others whatever ceremonial manners one undertook it would signify nothing. He felt that rites should not be looked upon simply as conventions by which we did things but they should be practiced with complete reverence and honesty He sacrificed to the dead as if they were present. He sacrificed to the pot liquor as if the spirits were present. The Master said, I consider my not being present at the sacrifice as though there were no sacrifice In the tenth book of The Analects we are effectively given the portrait of how one contending with Li should behave. The examples are given under the pretence of Confucius as a person himself and how he conducted himself. They give us direction as how to act appropriately and how to serve the spirits to bring about good fortune. Each passage gives shows us a different scenario and Confucius exemplary behaviour in that context, a few examples are While eating he would not converse, and having retired for the night he would not talk, In asking after the well-being of a friend in another state, he would bow twice before sending the messenger on his way, In sleeping he did not assume the lay of a corpse, and when at home alone, he did not kneel in a formal posture as though entertaining guests and On run across somebody in mourning dress, even those on intimate terms, he would invariably take on a solemn appearance. On meeting someone wearing a ceremonial cap or someone who is blind, even though they were frequent acquaintances, he would invariably pay his respects. These passages m ade Confucius the trope of courtliness and personal decorum for succeeding generations of Chinese officials. The final focal point of Confucianism is Ren or Authoritative conduct, references to Ren appear over one hundred times in the Analects.Ren is comprised of two elements, a person and the number two, emphasizing how our own person can only be cultivated through interactions with other people as Herbert Fingarette states For Confucius, unless there are at least two human beings, there can be no human beings. Ren consists of five basic virtues seriousness, generosity, sincerity, diligence and kindness. It is the behind of Confucian political theory, he felt that if a ruler lacked Ren it would effectively be impossible for his subjects to act humanely, he believed that people who had this mastered moral excellence inherent to Ren should be put into positions of political power The Master said If people are proper in personal conduct, others will follow pillowcase without need of command. But if they are not proper, even when they command, others will not obey. Confucius felt that the political intuitions in his era had completely lost their legitimacy, he felt that this was due to tyrannical behaviour in the sense that those in control lacked certain attributes such as Ren, vital to successfully ruling and were not worthy of the positions they held.We can observe through Confucius the idea that a ruler, whether good or bad has aneffectively contagious effect on his subjects and if he lacks the required qualities that deem him worthy to rule, his subjects will similarly lack the qualities that enable them to serve efficiently, everyone most uphold their truthful role in society to achieve harmonious functioning Good government consists of the ruler being a ruler, the minister being a minister, the father being a father, and the son being a son.To cultivate ones Ren one might look to Confucius ethics of reciprocity and perhaps his most famous teaching of all time, the golden rule which has been taken since the time of Confucius been included as part of numerous different religions and ideologies such as Christianity Do not impose on others what you do not wish for yourself. Interestingly, unlike Mencius and Xunzi, Confucius did not seem overly concerned about the root of human nature and whether we are innately good or bad but he did say Human Beings are similar in their natural tendencies, but vary greatly by virtue of their habits, implying that Confucius comprehend all men to be born with intrinsic value that can be shaped or moulded by study and practice. After reading and analysing The Analects of Confucius I think its clearly that it is the three components of Xiao, Li and Ren that are most predominant in his philosophy but that is not to say there werent other valuable concepts that are crucial to Confucianism such as Xin (? ) and Yi (? ) but they are beyond the scope of this essay. Audience The audience for this poem are all those who do not appreciate the beauty of nature and more so to the well-educated. 4. Purpose The reason Wordsworth wrote this poem was to express the beauty of all nature and how we take its beauty for granted. He is wishing to convey that we should acknowledge nature because we are nature and nature is in all of use. Also that we should admire its beauty before the pick up is gone and its too late. 5. Subject The poem is about a man who takes a trip to lake and wanders around without a care in the world, deal a cloud. Then he sees all these daffodils and compares them to stars. Later he returns to his order to then realize that the scene was beautiful and that all nature i s beautiful. 6. ToneThe composes attitude towards nature is that he loves the beauty of it and how should admire its beauty. That it should take a pensive mood (Line 20 Wordsworth) for us to realize the beauty of nature, because we should ceaselessly admire its beauty. Poem Analysis TP-CASTT 1. Title The agnomen seems to give off a sense of relaxation and a worry free feeling. Floating by dint of life with no worries, like a cloud. 2. Paraphrase A person is wandering around like a cloud does when it floats high over vales and hills. At a glance he sees a host of golden daffodils beside the lake, beneath the trees, fluttering and dancing. He compares the daffodils to the stars and how the flowers remind him of the Milky Way. The flowers stretch endlessly along the circumference of the bay. He saw just ten thousand in one glance. The waves besides the flowers danced but they could not outdo the sparkling waves of the daffodils. A poet could not be happy in such jocund company. He gazed at the show but thought little of what wealth the show to him had brought. It wasnt until he locate on his barf in a pensive mood that the image flashes before is inward eye, which is the bliss of solitude. Then finally his heart is fills with pleasure and dances with the daffodils. 3. connotation The author uses personification to bring to life the daffodils and to connect them with humans. dancing in the breeze. (Line 6 Wordsworth) This imagery gives us a sense that the daffodils are trying to leave with us through dancing, and tell us that we are really no different than them. The author gives off a relaxed tone by reservation the loudspeaker system wander like a cloud, and we can also tell that the author loves the beauty of nature and thinks that we are connected to it, by what he has the speaker do in the poem. The attitude that the speaker has toward nature is that at first he doesnt really admire the beauty of the daffodils until he lies on his couch and thinks ab out what he saw. The speakers attitude towards himself is that he doesnt really see whats so important about nature, until he really thinks about it. . ShiftsThe poem shifts when the speaker says, but little thought, (Line 17 Wordsworth). It also shifts when he lies on his couch to think about nature. It shifts from a sense of perspective, because at fist he just examined the lake and saw daffodils, but it wasnt until later, after he left, that there was more to the daffodils than just being plants. 6. Title Now when I see the title is see that it is saying that the speaker is wandering though life with no knowledge about nature and its connection with life. 7. ThemeThe poem is about a man who takes a trip to lake and wanders around without a care in the world, like a cloud. Then he sees all these daffodils and compares them to stars. Later he returns to his couch to then realize that the scene was beautiful and that all nature is beautiful. The theme of the story is that we just se e nature as plants and trees and we do not admire the true meaning of nature. Once we do see the true meaning of nature and how we are connected, we are not around to admire its beauty in person because its too late.

Introduction to Occupational Therapy
Introduction to Occupational TherapyPhysiology is the study of how the body fractures and living organisms work and physical and chemic factor responsible for the origin, progression and development of life. Physiology is a foundation for further studies in the health science. Occupational therapy is a health profession that helps patients improve their sickening system functions including motor, social, personal, academic and vocational pursuits. Occupational therapy is professional trained in the biological, physical, and medical and behavior science. Through physiology, occupational therapists aim insight into and be fitted to explain peripheral, the central and the autonomous sickish systems functions and structure. From loveing the normal state of nauseating system, occupational therapists sack report the dysfunctions and improve their loath about system. Occupational Therapist incorporates the study of nervous system as it relates to participation in daily life. Ther efore, occupational therapists ar able to convert basic physiology conceit to patient care. Occupational therapy used the knowledge of nervous system to treat conditions which related to nervous system such as manifold sclerosis, Parkinsons complaint, and intellectual palsy.Multiple sclerosis is an immune-mediated process in which an abnormal response of the immune system produces inflammation in the central nervous system which is brain, spinal corduroy and optic cases (National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2014). The damaged myelin where the protective membrane of nerve fibers is multiple sclerosis in various central nervous system (Lammert Zeeb, 2014). The T and B lymphatic cells and autoantibodies cause myelin damage, neuroinflammtion and neurodegeneration which make multiple sclerosis be a part of the group of autoimmune disease (Lammert Zeeb, 2014). The damaged myelin forms scar tissue (National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2014). Since the myelin is damaged, the nerve im pulses travelling to and from the brain and spinal cord are distorted and producing umpteen of symptoms (National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2014).Occupational therapist will offer strengthening and stretching exercise for the upper body to improve coordination (Wilson,n.d.). Normally, people who throw away multiple sclerosis have spasticity, especially lower body parts because the nerve impulse become smaller as going through the nerve (Wilson,n.d.). If they do not do stretching exercises regularly, their legs puke be stiffen (Wilson,n.d.). Strengthening exercises are improve weakened muscle in moving and walking (Wilson,n.d.). Parkinsons is a lacking of dopamine because some nerve cells in brain have died (Parkinsons UK, n.d.). Parkinsons is a progressive deteriorate in nervous system and their movement become slower (Parkinsons UK, n.d.). The main symptoms of Parkinsons are tremor, slowness of movement and rigidity which cause them involuntary shaking in their part of body, w alk slowly, take longer to do their activities of daily life, stiff muscles, pain and muscle cramps (Parkinsons UK, n.d.). Due to the message from brain to every part of body may not go through properly, it interrupts their activity of daily life such as bladder and gut problems, eye problems, falls and dizziness, fatigue, freezing, pain, queasy legs syndrome, skin and sweating problem, sleep problems, speech and communication problems and swallowing problem (Parkinsons UK, n.d.). People with Parkinsons john experience mental health such as anxiety, dementia, depression, hallucination and delusion and memory problems because they worry about living with the condition or because of possible changes in brain (Parkinsons UK, n.d.). There is no commission to improve the brain condition, so occupational therapists will help in finding easier shipway to do their activity of daily life by recommending some equipment and changes their legal residence safer (Parkinsons UK, n.d.). The d evelopment of glial scar after central nervous system injuries is prohibit axon regeneration (University of Cambride, n.d.). The major molecules in glial scar are chondroitin sulpahate proteogly atomic number 50s, semaphorins, ephrins and sulfated glycosaminoglycan (University of Cambride, n.d.). If the sulfated glycosaminoglycan, chondroitinase and proteoglycans are lost, this can promote axon regeneration in central nervous system (University of Cambride, n.d.). Axons that have high regenerative potential have large amount of ribosomes and other protein synthesis machinery in axon (University of Cambride, n.d.). However, central nervous system do not transport ribosomes which decrease the capability of nerve cells to regenerate (University of Cambride, n.d.). Besides that, axons in central nervous system need to have right integrin and surface integrin to interact with matrix glycoprotein in order to answer regeneration (University of Cambride, n.d.). However, various inhibitory molecules inactivate the Alpha9 intergrin and tenascin which allow them to regenerate (University of Cambride, n.d.). Cerebral palsy is a disorder that which caused by brain damage (Bachrach, 2012). This disorder can be occurred before or during a child birth or during the first 3 to 5 years child (Bachrach, 2012). There is no bring back for this disease, but treatments include physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, drugs to control seizures, relax muscle spasms and alleviate pain to overcome developmental disabilities and learn new ways to adopt this disabilities (National Institute of Neurological rowdyism and Stroke, 2014). Their condition can be improved by doing surgery to correct anatomical abnormalities (National Institute of Neurological Disorder and Stroke, 2014). To smoother their activity of daily life, equipment like wheelchairs, walker and communication aids also help to improve their lives (National Institute of Neurological Disorder and Stroke, 2014). T here are three types of cerebral palsy which are spastic cerebral palsy, athetoid cerebral palsy and ataxic cerebral palsy (Bachrach, 2012). Spastic cerebral palsy can cause stiffness in muscle which cause them have walking difficulties (Bachrach, 2012). Athetoid cerebral palsy can lead to involuntary and uncontrolled movement. Ataxic cerebral palsy can cause them imbalance and depth perception (Bachrach, 2012). For them, they have difficult in doing activities of daily life such as bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility, grooming and bowel (Bachrach, 2012).For children, occupational therapists normally will focus on playing and learning to achieve the goals that settled by multiple disciplinary team. Occupational therapy can address social, psychological and environmental factors involved with the children. Occupational therapist address working on fine motor by grasping and releasing toys, playing puzzle, sort out the shape and number and others in order to exercise their hands mu scle for developing handwriting skills. Occupational therapy for cerebral palsy can meet their needs by addressing hand-eye coordination to improve play skills such as hitting a target, batting a ball, bowling, coping from whiteboard and others. Occupational therapist helps children with developmental learning delay in activity of daily life such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding and movement. Normally, these children are more impulsive, aggressive, behavior disorder and low federal agency due to their disorder. Occupational therapists also have to acquire them how to vent out their stress and manage their anger. Occupational therapists will recommend them to write down their timbre in dairy or participating in physical activity likes sport. Due to their weak muscle tone, muscle and motor skills, occupational therapists have to teach them to use specialized equipment such as wheelchair, splint and dressing devices. Normally, their eating utensils are modified to bigger and heavier handles than normal one in order they can feed themselves. Their cups with special handles and plates with higher lips to keep and drink from slipping off. The clients with physical limitation can operate computer with touch screen and voice acquaintance to make their works easier. Special computers have the capability to help them get along taks that would normally be impossible for them.As nerve cells do not have centrioles to perform cell division, once the nerve cells are damaged, it is hard to recover. Dealing with disease or disorder associated with nervous system, there is no cure or hundred percent to recover back to normal life. However, as a occupational therapist, they will try their best in finding easier way to perform their activity of daily life. Not only occupational therapists ask them to do some exercises or play, but occupational therapists also have to go their home to have an assessment to modify their home to make their life easier. Normally, for thos e who have disorder or disease, their parents or caregivers may experience some mental health, so the occupational therapists have to improve their family members to decrease assistances on other for help with self-care, increase physical mobility and give consultation to the family member. From the knowledge of nervous system, occupational therapists know how to treat them to improve their lives and prevent any accident which can make it worse.ReferencesBachrach, S. J. (2012). For exampleYoung and pretty workers get jobs that involve a lot of interaction with customersHaitian women generally work in housekeepingOlder women sell in the shopsOlder men work in securityPuerto Recons work in food preparationAfrican Americans work as stewards or cooks,More than a 100 Africans are employed in the Animal Kingdom, to lend authentic flavour.Anyone who might appear less presentable work on the night shiftCast Members receive some excellent benefits includingHealth, Dental, flavour InsuranceComplimentary makeup Park PassportsLearning and Development Opportun itiesPaid holidays, vacations, and sick daysRetirement plan.Scholarship course of instruction30% Discount on park merchandiseEmployee Stock Purchase ProgramAccess to a Cast Member-only lake and recreation area with tennis, volleyball, and an Olympic-size swimming pool.Educational ReimbursementEducational Matching Gifts ProgramService AwardsEmployee Cast Member ContestsChildcare CentresCredit UnionsEmployee StoresCast Members usually work 40 hours or more each week, with quality service being the responsibility of every one. Each one measures service quality levels, establish benchmarks and set goals, as there is no person in charge of quality. alternatively of one quality director, Disney has 42,000 of them.(Paton S. M. Service Quality, Disney Style, Quality Digest)Disney UniversityMany hours have been devoted to designing successful employee universities which train workers in the Disneyland philosophy.Walt Disney established the Disney University to teach these unique skills. Th e University provides cast members with free world-class training in diverse skills including computer applications, professional development, management/ leads development, health safety, interviewing, business, etc.EmpowermentDisney is committed to employee empowerment. Employees are empowered to adjourn all guest issues on their own, with managers only getting involved in extreme circumstances. Managers use service measurement teams to empower employees. 1 or 2 employees from each department take note of any service issues that might take from a guests stay at the resort. By keeping records of every problem, and how it was dealt with, helps to inhibit the chances of it happening again. To keep up-to-date with their guests expectations, Disney also collects huge amounts of data about guests from opinion polls, surveys, focus groups etc. From this information, the company know that the top three things that guests expect are for the parks to be clean, friendly and fun. Every wor ker, from the CEO to cleaner, know these 3 expectations well, and is empowered to make them happen. All employees know, too, the definition of quality at DisneyDisney defines quality as attention to detail and exceeding guest expectations.Performance AppraisalsManagement use execution appraisals and performance surveys, to measure internal service quality. The annual performance appraisal is designed to give the employee a broad perspective of his/her accomplishment from the previous year and to identify upcoming challenges. Another strategy employed by managers to deliver service quality, are monthly development action plans. (DAPs) (Zeithaml and Bitner, 2000)RewardsDisney certainly know the true value of retaining productive employees. Annual turnover amongst its employees is only 20%. This low turnover is made possible by treating employees like resort guests, and the extensive employees reward programs, Disney offers. There are in excess of 50 different reward and recognition p rograms, that are geared towards maintaining high employee morale, the most prestigious award being the Partners in Excellence program. This award involves one employee nominating another employee (who has excellent attendance and no disciplinary action record). The nominated employee then receives a bronze statue of the company founder, Walt Disney, and is invited to a dinner ceremony where he/she is individually recognize for his/her outstanding accomplishments by company executives.Disney also rewards employees through service pins, attendance awards, and Recognition-O-Grams (ROGs). Recipients usually wear service pins on their uniforms, which they receive service pins on their first, fifth, tenth, ordinal and twenty-fifth anniversaries. Attendance awards are also offered to employees after one, three, five, ten and fifteen years of perfect attendance. The awards range from honorary certificates to a $2000 gift certificate.Recession hitsDisney Theme ParksLike many other industr ies, the entertainment industry has been affected by the world economic downturn. Early this year, Disney reported a 32% fling in net income for its fiscal first quarter of 2010, attributing the results to the recessions effects on its studio, television and parks. The Walt Disney Co. axed 1,900 jobs from its theme parks in California and Florida. Walt Disney World in Orlando eliminated 1,400 jobs. The authentic Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, axed 300 positions. The rest of the jobs were eliminated at the companys corporate headquarters at Burbank. These decisions are not made lightly, but are essential to maintaining our leadership in family tourism and reflect todays economic realities, said Mike Griffin, a Walt Disney World spokesman. Those laid off received a 60-day paid administrative leave, a severance parcel that is based on their years of service, extended medical benefits, and job placement.According to the Los Angeles TimesDisney is bracing for an extended down turn as people skip theme parks to save money. The recession, and the recent decline, has really hit the theme park industry, but it has hit the destination parks more than the regional parks, People are staying closer to home, the newspaper said.Trade UnionsWorkers are represented by 34 unions, the biggest being the Service Trade Council Union (STCU), The STCU represents about 22,000 F/T and 5,000 P/T workers at Disney World. The SEIU is part of the STCU, a consortium of six trade unions that is the only group certified to bargain with the Disney company. In the culture two years alone, Disneyland Resort has successfully negotiated nine agreements with the union. These agreements included wage increases, sick pay and access to seven affordable and reliable health care plans offered through Disneys Signature benefits package for full-time cast members.ConclusionThis essay looked at the human resource practises that have been adopted at Disney in order to maximize the delivery of su perior guest services. Reasons for the companys success include emphasis on customer service, and a focus on the elements of efficiency, courtesy, show, and safety. It has shown how employee strategies at Disney lead to the progression of exceptional service quality.Disney takes a lot of care with its casting department and regularly assess its pay packages and new ways of recruiting. It offers a competitive package of wages and incentives to its staff, such as free park admission and discounts on park merchandise. In the past, Disneys theme parks has been fairly recession-proof. But this year, fewer people found their way to the Magic Kingdom as profits were down from 2008-10. Disney said the company manages its operation based on demand, and like any other business it is subject to the ups and downs of the economyIts important that management stress to workers that employee development and empowerment is an on-going process, as the actions of empowered employees have enabled Disne y to develop a lasting family with millions of guests worldwide. The human resource department must continually develop successful recruiting strategies and effective reward and recognition programs to maintain high morale and promote teamwork.

How Deradicalization Impacts Terrorist Groups
How Deradicalization Impacts Terrorist GroupsHow underside the intelligence confederacy use deradicalizationto impact the effectiveness of Hezbollah? The intelligence residential district is vital to building cohesive fundament and imperturbable societies. A deradicalization syllabus via a mixture of elements described herein center on ideological and religious education that challenge the effectiveness of Hezbollah. Groups that sit a meaningful threat allow Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Al-Shabaab, Hezbollah, and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). Hezbollah is unique in that they ar one of the intimately healthful developed social and community supported networks, and an official member of an organized government, i.e., Lebanese Government via overwhelming/evolved success as a spherical terrorist or Shia defense organization and subsequent political power in the Lebanese political system through its use of social function (Love, 2010, p. 1).Leve raging a deradicalization program is simply one of several innovative approaches to counterterrorism. Hezbollah is a well-funded terrorist network founded on social services. Impacting Hezbollah requires a multi-pronged approach. The juncture exceptional operations University Report (2010) evokes,Hezbollahs organizational structure, funding root systems, and social service achievements abide a systemic understanding of how the organization morphed from a resistance cause into a stateless government that leverages charity to meet the needs of the neglected, oppressed, and marginalized. (p. 14)The intelligencecommunity must recognize the reasons for radicalization while simultaneously refering essential funding sources beforehand executing a deradicalizationprogram. A diplomatic approach depends onpreemptive intelligence gathering, the rule of law, cooperation with the media, and promotion of domestic security (Munoz & Crosston, 2015, p. 24).The collins Dictionary defines deradi calization as the practice of encouraging individuals with extreme and idle religious or political ideologies to adopt views that are more moderate (n.d.). Johnston (2009) found recognize distinctions between insulation and deradicalization.Disengagementoccurs when an individual or a group no bimestrial engages in violence or theindividual no longer participates in the violent activities of the group. Deradicalization occurs when a group or anindividual no longer believes in a violent ideology. (p. 9)Understanding andappreciating the differences between disengagement and deradicalization isone-step towards the intelligence community deradicalizing Hezbollah.Deradicalization in prison houses is one of onlya few methods or techniques likely capable of reversing the Hezbollah radicalizationprocess. Diplomacy in conjunction withderadicalization whitethorn effectively debase Hezbollahs engagement with theLebanese Government. Regardless of approach,a successful deradicalization progr am consists of counselors, legal scholars, law enforcement officers, and members of the intelligence community. Establishing success is non easy on that point is noone size fits all as political context situates each program. The majority of individual deradicalizationprograms reside in prisons and include a holistic multi-agency approach. Intelligence gathering, education, familysupport, and led by social services are the four common pillars that support asuccessful deradicalization program. Accordingto monetary value (2017), Deradicalization programs at a minimum consist ofTrained counselors capable ofconvincing extremists that terrorist activity is barbaric in a religiouscontext.Convince extremists that their individualviews are unfounded in a religious context.Treat extremists mentalhealth.Extract extremists valuesystem as a form of violence.Hezbollah, similar to other groups, appealsto educated and non-educated unemployed individuals. This vulnerability causes individuals to i dentifywith radical ideology. Deradicalizationincludes vocational training, religious counseling, psychological counseling,or creative art therapy. Vocationaltraining is an element leveraged for incarcerated individuals to provide a pathforward pursual release. Theeducational cerebrate could vary and harness ideological specificity. Although education would only be a portion ofa full deradicalization program, as a innate program principle, programscan be successful.Credible mentors previously radicalizedliaise with prisoners throughout their incarceration. Mentors establish a rapport with prisoners,as prisons are ideal locations for the implementation of deradicalizationprograms due to the measures of control in a prison setting (Johnston, 2009,p. 1). The established relationshipbetween mentor and prisoner allows incarcerated individuals to be honest andcommunicate their religious or political beliefs. overt communication is necessary forderadicalization to occur, as imprisonme nt becomes a cell that facilitatesradicalization.Hezbollah holds 14 seats in the LebaneseParliament, providing Hezbollah with significant international genuineness(Philippone, 2008). Hezbollahs enormoussocial service effort consistently outperforms the Lebanese governments socialprograms. As such, strain shifts towardscommitment and maintenance of an individuals success via ones family and jobbeyond release. The intelligence communityand collaborative partners support for family members care for incarcerated individuals dish up increase inclusion, thence deterring individuals from returning to theterrorist organization to fulfill previous needs. As an example, the Official Irish RepublicanArmy previously leveraged diplomacy via building a nonviolent and class-based adhesiveness between Protestant and Catholic working classes in Northern Ireland toundermine partition (Henriksen, 2008, p. 23).If diplomacy is unsuccessful, APractitioners authority Forward describes bring and impac t of overt publicpatron-client relationships, i.e., Iran supplies Hezbollah with funds, weapons, and the status that comes with the formal recognition by a powerful state. Hezbollah reciprocates through its committalto Irans state ideology, and its public support for Iranian policy objectives, which extends Tehrans influence into the Levant (Brannan, Darken, &Strindberg, 2014, p. 75).While material inducements like reducedprison sentence, housing, vehicles, etc. are appealing, deradicalizationprograms that rely predominantly on these inducements are the leastsuccessful. According to a Global Counterterrorism Forum memorandum, although terrorists should be appropriately punished, the criminal arbitersystem should provide for their deradicalization and reintegration intosociety (n.d., p. 2).A deradicalization process cannot follow aset script, nor can it be the same for all individuals going through it. advantage depends on the handiness ofadequate funding, reform within the prison s tructure, incorporation of culturalnorms, provision of monetary support to families of detainees, and followthrough with after-care programs (Johnston, 2009, p. 61). This approach consists of arehabilitation-focused deradicalization. An effective deradicalization program forHezbollah incorporates aforementioned elements before, during, and afterincarceration for societal integration. Sucha diplomatic method builds on victories achieved over the short, medium, andlong-term, designed to simulate down the reason of the enemy and to develop fullyfunctional societies with an actively included citizenry (Munoz, 2015, p.24). Deradicalization programs must be uniqueto a groups strengths and weakness, and the intelligence community must beable to adapt and make changes as necessary to prevent recidivism.ReferencesBrannan,D.,Darken,K., & Strindberg,A. Toronto Blue Jays :: GCSE Business Marketing Coursework
Toronto unrelenting Jayss case study The Toronto Blue Jays baseball team was founded in the 1970s and experienced support from the fans during the 1970s and 1980s. In 1992 and 1993, the Jays won straight World serial, yet in 1994, the team faced setbacks. The team had a losing streak, there was a major league baseball strike, and no World Series was played. At the same time, gambling came to Toronto, and the team had to compete for the fans time. Also, players salaries skyrocketed at a time when the Canadian dollar fell in value. How could the Toronto Blue Jays adjust tag end prices to improve financial performance and increase fan attendance?Situation Analysis The opening pitch of the 1999 marks the start of the Toronto Blue Jays twenty deuce-ace seasons in the American League. In 1998, the Jays brought in their first winning season since 1993. The Jays plays in the worlds most advanced retractable-roof stadium. It is luxuriously called the Sky Dome. With a winni ng move into like this and a state of the art stadium, the Jays feel their tickets are a great value because of the satisfaction fans can expect to receive from the ball game. testimonyPrice is that which is given up in an exchange to acquire a good or service. Price is typically the money exchanged for the good or service. Blue Jays pricing structure is based on the perceived value of the game, the entertainment, the love of baseball, and the action, not just the money. Inelastic demand means that an increase or decrease in price will not significantly affect demand for the product. In spite of the rising prices for the Blue Jays tickets, fans were expected to turn prohibited in large numbers. This inelastic demand for the tickets can be attributed in large part of the fact that their teams plays so well in 1998, and another work out is that the Blue Jays fan could never stay away from their team. Another inelastic demand for the Blue Jays tickets is that there is no other loca lly substitute team. Blue Jays pricing strategies are not just a financial necessity, they are also a promotional tool used to increase fan attendance. How? At all Saturday home game and nonholiday games, senior citizens and young people up to fourteen years old can purchase tickets except for the most valuable ones.
